Rod Nairne was introduced as a deep rebreather diver from Australia who built his own fully closed mixed-gas unit when suitable rebreathers were difficult to obtain.

The archived Northwood Designs page originally showed six photographs of Rod, Suzie and the unit. Those image files were not captured by Wayback. The three photographs above are surviving AARG photographs of the same homebuilt unit, substituted here and not represented as the missing Northwood Designs images.
