News Flash!

A rep from Channel V was at our recent gig at the Maroubra Junction Hotel and mentioned the possibility of Honeytung playing on the show in the near future.

At our Forest Inn gig the week before we were watched by Ian Moss of Cold Chisel fame, who commented on what great songs and sound the band had. Come along to our gig there on 18th Nov and see if he comes back for more.

The Green Square Hotel, Zetland - Fri 5th Nov - Show starts 9.30 - $4 Entry + Medecine Wheel and Elsewhere Fine.
The Friday at the Green Square was packed with Elsewhere Fines fans who warmed to Honeytungs finely crafted numbers. A group of Honeytung fans were also thereand made their presence heard after each song.

Friday 22nd October, 1999 - Maroubra Junction Hotel

9pm Start - 4 Bands.

A Great gig with lots of people and the band doing extended remixs with Nando Petinato filling in on drums while Paul went out front.
Members of RNB Rap group 'Mystikelement' came down to have a rap with the band but arrived just too late as they ended. A rep from Channel V was also present and mentioned the possibility of Honeytung playing on the show with Puff Daddy in the coming weeks.

Thursday 21st October, 1999 - Green Square Hotel

9pm Start - 3 Bands.

A great warmup gig for Maroubra Junction. The first gig for a while as the full Honeytung with an excellent, inspired version of "High Society" being the highlight of the night.

Thursday 14th October, 1999 - The Forest Inn, Bexley

10pm Start - 3 Bands. Mike was unable to be at this gig due to short notice so Jeremy filled in on Bass. Ian Moss from Cold Chisel was at the venue, an amazing fact considering there were only a few people there and he does not live anywhere near Bexley!
He gave the band a great wrap after the gig and Scott's head grew to enormous proportions when 'Mossy' commented on his quote; "Fantastic" guitar playing!

Friday 30th July 1999 - The Maroubra Junction Hotel - 8pm - Free Entry.

195-199 Maroubra Rd, Maroubra, Sydney (94133311)

A low key gig with Paul Verma overseas recording in London. Paul McDermott filled in and Jeremy played bass while Mike had a night in hospital with an infected tooth. We took lots of painkillers for him ;) A great fun gig with four bands and plenty of guest appearences.

Thursday 29th July 1999 - The Three Weeds Hotel - support - Shane Murphy (ex. Spinifex)

193 Evans Street, Rozelle, Sydney (98102878)

This gig was a great success with a good live recording being made and lots of crowd interaction. After many demanding rehearsals the band delivered a feast of music. T-Shirts and stickers were available and the 'Honeytungettes' hit the dance floor when the band funked it up.

Friday 25th June 1999 - The Three Weeds Hotel - supporting Cathy Mac Band.

193 Evans Street, Rozelle, Sydney (98102878).

Our debut gig was a great success with a live recording and video being produced by our network of artistic buddies. Thanks guys and gals. This gig has resulted in requests for us to headline at a number of venues however Paul is off to London for most of August to play some keys for the Drummer from Massive Attack, so we are only playing two more gigs (see above) until he leaves. We will be booked solid in September and hope to release our debut recording in October/November.
